Woo Yun Kang Jeong & Han has announced that Raymond Kang has joined the firm as a US attorney. In addition to working for the law division of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Kang previously worked as a law clerk to the Honourable Edmund R. Bernhard, JSC and as an associate of Mason, Griffin & Pierson. Kang was admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey as well as the State of Pennsylvania, and his primary practice areas are in M & A and general corporate law.

DLA Piper has announced the appointment of Esther Leung as a partner in its Hong Kong office. With extensive experience in advising companies on their stock market listings, she also has expertise in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate restructurings and China investment. Leung will play a significant role in further developing DLA Piper’s growing corporate finance services in Greater China.

Lovells has announced the appointment of senior consultants Terence Lau and Jack Su, and three other associates, Marcus Chow, Sunny Chan and Ivy Kam, to the Asia Corporate team based in the Hong Kong office. Lau, formerly a consultant at Mallesons Stephen Jacques and Herbert Smith in Hong Kong, has over 10 years of experience specialising in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. Su, a US-qualified lawyer with 15 years experience in infrastructure projects in Asia, has recently joined the office’s corporate practice from Simmons & Simmons. Chow, formerly working at Stamford Law Corporation in Singapore, has recently joined as a senior associate in the Asia Corporate team in Hong Kong. He has significant experience in corporate and securities transactions. Chan and Kam have joined the office on the corporate side. They specialise in corporate finance with particular emphasis in IPO and mergers and acquisitions.

DLA Piper has announced the appointment of Koji Ishikawa as a partner to develop its growing Tokyo office’s corporate and finance practice. Ishikawa has broad experience in the initial public offering of Chinese companies on the Tokyo Stock Exchange as well as Japanese companies, banks and venture capital firms in China/Hong Kong-related capital raisings including listing on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and joint ventures.

Minter Ellison has announced the appointment of a new partner in its Perth office. Alex McLean, a banking and insolvency litigation specialist, has joined the firm from Corrs Chambers Westgarth. With more than 10 years’ experience in the Perth market, he has represented major financial institutions in significant matters involving Western Metals, Joyce Corporation, Sons of Gwalia, Harvey Beef and Westpoint Corporation.
