| Mark Roppel will join Allen & Overy as a partner in the corporate practice. Roppel will be based in Shanghai, but is expected to spend considerable time working out of the firm’s Beijing and Hong Kong offices. Prior to joining the firm, Roppel was managing partner at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft in Beijing. Over the course of his career, he has represented clients in a variety of transactions including stock mergers, tender offers, public offerings, private stock and asset purchases, private placements, leveraged acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures, and strategic alliances. In recent times, Roppel has advised both inbound investments into China for private equity firms and multi-nationals as well as on Chinese outbound transactions in the energy, resources and financial sectors. |
