K&L Gates has added Jim Wu, a former General Counsel with Yahoo! Asia Pacific, as a corporate partner in its Taipei and Palo Alto offices. Wu has functioned in a leadership or in-house counsel role for a variety of different entities during the past 15 years advising on corporate governance matters, M&As, investments and strategic partnerships, private equity financing and corporate securities affairs. This included seven years with Yahoo! Inc. Previously, Wu was a founding partner in both the Taipei office, where he also served as managing partner, and San Francisco office of the firm’s predecessor Preston Gates & Ellis.

Morrison & Foerster has appointed Shirin Tang as a corporate partner in Singapore effective 21 April 2014. She joins from Shearman & Sterling, where she led a wide range of cross-border transactions and practiced in the firm’s New York office for nearly six years. Tang recently represented China Investment Corporation and several other Asia-based sovereign wealth funds and national investment companies in co-investments and joint ventures in the US, Brazil, Chile and Africa.Tang earned her LLM from Harvard Law School and her LLB from National University of Singapore. She is admitted to practice in New York and Singapore.
