Baker McKenzie has added Frankie Tam to the firm’s Hong Kong office as a partner in its Data, Technology, Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice, strengthening the firm’s capability advising on technology transactions, outsourcing, data privacy, information management and cybersecurity to support clients as they navigate the growing challenges of innovating and staying competitive. Tam brings significant experience advising multinationals on a wide range of technology transactions, including outsourcing, cloud infrastructure, commercial contracts and digital transformation. She has counseled clients on data privacy compliance and cybersecurity matters, and has supported financial institutions and technology companies on strategic transactions involving digital currencies, Central Bank Digital Currencies and stablecoins, as well as cross-border payment systems. Tam has assisted clients across industries – including aviation, financial services, technology, and life sciences – in navigating the fast-changing AI, fintech, cybersecurity and data regulatory environment. She is qualified in Hong Kong, New York, and England & Wales. Tam is an active figure within the tech ecosystem, currently serving as Director of the Cyber Legal Policy Committee. She has also served as a member of the Vetting Committee of Hong Kong’s Innovation and Technology Commission’s General Support Programme, advising the government on the merits of technology projects.
