Khaitan & Co has appointed Paku Khan as an executive director/partner in the firm’s competition law practice to be based in the firm’s New Delhi office. Khan has over 20 years of competition, merger control, corporate and related litigation experience. He has practiced competition law and has served as a competition regulator in both the US and the EU. Prior to joining the firm, he was the director of competition law at Amarchand Mangaldas from 2010 to 2012. Khan brings considerable experience in cartels and abuse of dominance cases. He has also been involved in numerous complex merger control cases, including Ryanair’s attempted acquisitions of Irish airline Aer Lingus and Heineken’s acquisition of parts of Scottish & Newcastle.
