| Now in its tenth year, the In-House Congress Middle East, Dubai hosted by Pacific Business Press brought together almost 270 senior counsel, Directors and CEOs to analyse and discuss issues such as: Ensuring You’re in the Driving seat on Debt Recovery – Negotiating, Tracking and Going Head to Head; Navigating the New World of Sanctions – From Iran to Russia and Beyond; Strategic Risk Management for Major Projects; The UAE Commercial Companies Law: Potential pitfalls for the unwary; Drafting Sound Contracts – Recent Developments in Contract Law; Managing Legal and Reputational Risk for your Business; The Life and Times of an Offshore Company; Deal Or No Deal: An Interactive IP Case Study; and Post Termination Restrictions and Team Moves.
On March 2, 2016, the In-House Community brought 258 of its Middle-Eastern members to the Raffles Hotel Dubai for a full day of practice area workshops.
Having been welcomed by In-House Community Director Tim Gilkison, delegates attended a panel discussion entitled ‘The Biggest Challenges in my job are…?’ which congregated Karen Sample, Chief Legal Officer, TECOM Group; David Charles, Senior Corporate Counsel, Middle East, Tyco International plc; Mohammed R. Alsuwaidi, Managing Partner, Al Suwaidi & Company; Sadiq Jafar, Managing Partner, Dubai, Hadef & Partners; Warren Thomson, Partner, Hogan Lovells; Mark Anderson, Director, Taylor Root; and moderator Patrick Dransfield, Co-Director of the In-House Community.
