 Norton Rose Fulbright has bolstered its Construction & Engineering practice with the return of Emanuel Confos as a partner in the Sydney office. He was most recently the head of construction at Gilbert+Tobin. Among the high points of his career was his advice to Brookfield Multiplex in a 2014 High Court decision, which was both a unanimous victory and a landmark decision for the construction industry. Confos regularly advises on all aspects of construction law. He has prepared and negotiated complex construction contracts for large scale commercial and residential projects, as well as in the hospitality and mining industries and in the construction of technology buildings, such as data centre facilities. He has extensive experience acting for clients in large-scale complex construction litigation. |
 Shearman & Sterling has bolstered its China and regional/global M&A practice with the addition of Stephanie Tang as a partner in the China M&A group. She joins from Kirkland & Ellis, where she was a partner and represented Chinese companies on a variety of public and private cross-border M&A transactions, special committee assignments on US take-private transactions and private equity transactions. A Mandarin speaker and New York-qualified, Tang has also represented Chinese issuers in venture capital financings and other capital-raising transactions, including IPOs. |

He has broad experience in litigation involving complex financial products and in commercial and regulatory crime defence practice. Seah is both Singapore and England & Wales qualified.
Yulchon has added Ben B Hur as a partner and head of the finance practice. His experience spans a broad range of bank products, including loans, capital markets, structured finance, derivatives and structured products. Hur has been practicing law for more than twenty years. Based in London and Hong Kong from 1997 to 2011, he worked as a finance lawyer at international law firms, including Ashurst, and worked as a banker at UBS Warburg. He has particular expertise in advising, structuring and executing cutting-edge and innovative financial transactions and products with novel features. Since the global credit crisis in 2008, Hur has frequently been involved in resolving disputes related to complex financial products and providing strategic solutions to institutional clients by combining industry knowledge with experience as both a lawyer and a banker. |
