A&O Shearman has new leadership appointments for its Greater China practice to drive its strategy and operations across the region.
Roger Lui will become senior partner for Greater China, and Cindy Lo will take on the role of regional managing partner for Greater China, also assuming the position of Hong Kong office managing partner. Yvonne Ho will continue as office managing partner for Shanghai and Beijing. Roger and Cindy succeed Vicki Liu and Lorna Chen, effective May 1, 2026.
Roger started his career as a trainee in the firm’s London office, and spent time in Tokyo before returning to Hong Kong. He is one of the firm’s Financial Institutions sector leads, and advises clients on a wide range of complex financial transactions across APAC. As senior partner, Roger will focus on clients and markets, and deepen the firm’s relationships across the region.
Cindy joined the firm as a trainee in Hong Kong, and has built her career across its Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing offices. She gained additional commercial and client-side perspectives through a period working in-house at an international investment bank, prior to rejoining the firm in Beijing.
Now based in Hong Kong, Cindy regularly works with Chinese and international banks, credit funds and investors in cross-border financing transactions. As Greater China managing partner, she will have responsibility for the management and performance of the business.
