Pillay, who had spent close to ten years at the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore where he was Director of Enforcement, is a competition law and regulation practitioner with more than 14 years of experience in both the public sector and private practice. His practice covers competition law and regulation related advisory work in Singapore and the Southeast Asia region. He regularly assists clients with matters relating to cartel investigations, M&As, joint venture agreements, abuse of dominance investigations, competition compliance and audits. He also advises competition authorities on enforcement strategies, competition policy, institutional frameworks and work process reviews, and legislative amendments. He joins the firm from Osborne Clarke Queen Street.

Joining from Clayton Utz, Maxwell has more than 20 years’ experience acting in high stakes complex litigation, complemented by a scientific research background in pharmacology and toxicology. He has been advising across a range of industries, particularly in challenging product liability and highly technical commercial matters of strategic significance.
