Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas has added Kunal Gupta as partner at its New Delhi Office with effect on 15 February 2016. An expert in forensics and investigations, he has advised on AML compliance and investigations, FCPA/UK Bribery Act investigations, forensic technology services, internal fraud investigations, fraud risk assessments, third party due diligence and background checks. Gupta joins as a partner with Grant Thornton in India. Prior to Grant Thornton, he was at PriceWaterHouse Coopers at New Delhi and at the World Bank in Washington DC where he was involved in large, multi-country investigations involving fraud and corruption in World Bank-financed projects across the world. He also speaks regularly at industry forums and is closely involved with the National Judicial Academy where he conducts sessions on forensic accounting. Gupta is a 2006 Erasmus Mundus Scholar, having obtained his European Master in Law & Economics from the Erasmus University, University of Ghent & Hamburg University. Further, he holds a BA LLB (Hons) degree from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore and a LLM from the Harvard Law School, 2008.


Gadens has added Meg Lee as a partner in its Melbourne-based property, construction and planning team. Joining from Allens, Lee is a specialist in planning and environment law with extensive experience advising clients in the industrial, retail, manufacturing, renewable energy and development sectors. Her expertise encompasses environmental and planning advice in relation to risks, liabilities and statutory regulation for major infrastructure and property developments and redevelopments, commercial transactions, land use, environmental risk, the management of contaminated land and environmental prosecutions. A large part of her practice includes assisting clients to obtain state and federal project approvals, representing clients at VCAT, Planning Panels Victoria and Advisory Committees appointed by the Planning Minister.

Kochhar & Co has further strengthened its litigation & dispute resolution practice with the addition of Rahul Ray as a senior partner and Vikram Bajaj as a joint partner at its New Delhi office. Ray has over 25 years of experience in advising and representing numerous multinational and domestic clients on diverse matters ranging from corporate to general trade and commercial laws, criminal law, competition laws and environment law matters, as well as construction contracts. He also has rich experience in handling domestic and international arbitration matters. On the other hand, Bajaj joins with over 17 years of experience in company law, arbitration law, constitutional law, criminal law and environment law.



Stephenson Harwood has added partners King Tak Fung and Ivan Ng from Eversheds in Hong Kong. Prior to joining the legal profession, Fung was Vice President and Head of Trade Finance at Bank of America NA. He is the author of “Leading Court Cases on Letters of Credit” (published by the ICC in 2005). He is a highly recognisable speaker on matters relating to trade finance and has conducted hundreds of workshops all over the world. Fung is an Accredited General Mediator of the HKIAC and the Law Society of Hong Kong. In addition, he acts as expert witness in Hong Kong and Chinese courts on banking, international trade matters and commercial disputes. He is admitted in Hong Kong and England & Wales and is a member of the Academy of Experts on Banking and Structured Trade Finance. On the other hand, Ng is a commercial litigator with more than 20 years’ experience, having been admitted in Hong Kong, England and Wales. He has significant experience advising on contractual disputes, joint venture disputes and shareholders disputes. Ng also has extensive experience in insolvency, trade finance and banking litigation and advises clients on commercial fraud, anti-bribery and regulatory investigations matters. He is an accredited CEDR mediator and is on the mediators panel of the Lands Tribunal and Law Society of Hong Kong. He previously worked at Stephenson Harwood & Lo, as the firm was then known during the 1990s. Ng is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Chiu Chow.
