Clifford Chance has appointed Masayuki Okamoto as a partner in the finance practice of the firm’s Tokyo office. Okamoto is an international finance and corporate lawyer who specialises in structured finance, acquisition finance, real estate finance, banking and financial regulatory work. He is qualified in both Japan and New York. His focus will be on further developing the firm’s local law capability in the areas of structured finance, leverage finance and real estate finance together with regulatory work relevant to Clifford Chance’s financial institution clients. Okamoto joins Clifford Chance from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer Law Office in Tokyo, where he was a partner.

Joseph Hong has joined Woo Yun Kang Jeong & Han as a US attorney. Previously, Hong worked at Samil Pricewaterhouse Coopers as Manager in the International Tax Department, at Ernst & Young LLP, New York as Manager of their Asian Business Group, and at BNA Tax Management. Admitted to practice in the State of New York, Hong practices primarily in the areas of foreign investment and taxation law.
