Fried Frank announced today that William Yoo has joined the Firm’s Asia practice, resident in Hong Kong. William specializes in both real estate equity and debt transactions and corporate finance. His real estate work includes structuring equity investments for off-shore investors. William has worked extensively with banks, financial institutions, private equity funds and investors, both based in Asia and looking to expand into Asia. He joins from Paul Hastings, Tokyo.

Deacons has announced the appointment of Paul Kwan as a partner of Commercial Litigation Practice with effect from 1 January 2008. Kwan has significant experience in civil and commercial litigation, and specialises in resolving disputes involving landlord and tenancy, employment issues, shareholders, general commercial dispute and commercial fraud. He acts for banks, developers, management companies and incorporated owners on contentious property, building management and tenancy matters. He handles a wide range of employment matters such as staff redundancy following restructuring and advises on all areas concerning Labour Tribunal proceedings and dealing with Equal Opportunities Commission. He also advises on matters involving shareholders’ dispute, family and estate disputes, sale of goods and distributorship dispute, debt recovery and restructuring, company liquidation as well as receivership.
