Energy and projects specialist Anthony Raven has joined Lovells Tokyo office as a partner in the firm’s energy practice group. Raven has substantial experience acting for Japanese clients in the energy and projects sectors, having recently completed a one year secondment with the Energy Department at Mitsubishi Corporation. Joining the firm from Herbert Smith in Tokyo, he was previously with Ashurst both in London and in Tokyo, where he spent 18 months on secondment to Mitsui & Co Ltd.

Fund formation lawyer Dean Collins has joined O’Melveny & Myers LLP Asia practice as a partner and a member of the firm’s investment funds and securitisation practice group. Collins joins the firm from his position as a director at private equity investor Actis, where he was heavily involved in significant and complex fund raisings. His experience also includes a tenure as a lawyer at an international law firm in the fund formation practice area, advising clients on investments, exits, spinouts, joint ventures, fund secondaries, and a range of other corporate finance matters. Collins also has worked as a consultant for UBS Capital, Merrill Lynch International, and a number of private equity-backed businesses.
