Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP has announced that Joseph Kim and David Vance have joined its Tokyo office. Kim and Vance join from Latham & Watkins and Baker & McKenzie, respectively. In addition Patricia Tan Openshaw, previously of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, has joined the firm’s Hong Kong office. Openshaw’s practice extends across an array of corporate and project transactions involving energy and infrastructure assets and in financings involving commercial banks, export credit agencies, multilateral agencies and private equity funds. Her experience covers Asia and Australia, where she has represented multinational companies in restructurings, refinancings, private equity investments, divestitures, privatizations and cross-border acquisitions. Kim’s practice focuses on leverage finance, as well as project development and project finance, throughout Asia. Vance specializes in infrastructure project finance and development, in the power, petrochemicals, oil and gas and telecommunications industries, and also has substantial experience in cross-border acquisition finance.
