Clyde & Co has added Elliot Papageorgiou as a partner in its Shanghai office. Papageorgiou is joined by a team of four China-qualified and licensed lawyers. He joins from Rouse, where he has built an intellectual property practice in the Asia Pacific, especially China, for the past 12 years. He focuses on the full IP-lifecycle, from strategic IP protection and portfolio advice, to IP exploitation and commercialisation, IP enforcement and litigation. During his university days in Australia, he focused his honours research on pharmaceutical patent protection. After university, he joined a top Australian firm’s IP department, before relocating to the UK where he read IP for the BCL at St Catherine’s College, Oxford. He then worked on projects involving IP commercialisation and enforcement in Central and Eastern Europe, where he put his linguistic skills in Hungarian, Serbian, Croatian and German to good use. In 2005, he moved to China, where he has been advising international, especially European, clients.

Colin Ng & Partners has continued to strengthen its corporate practice by welcoming its new partner Terence Yeo, who joined the firm on July 3, 2017. Yeo will be leading the private equity and fintech practice group. He has been in practice for 17 years and has extensive experience in private equity and venture capital investments, M&As, technology, employment, and general corporate and commercial matters.
