Simmons & Simmons has strengthened its China practice with the addition of employment and corporate partner, Lesli Ligorner. She joins from Paul Hastings Shanghai where she co-chaired the international employment law practice and chaired the employment law and anti-corruption practices in China. She has extensive experience in transactions involving strategic employment counselling, litigation and labour issues for multinational companies with focus on anti-corruption matters. The firm has also expanded its energy and infrastructure sector in Hong Kong with the appointment of corporate partner Vivien Yang who specialises in M&A, projects and commercial contracts in the energy and natural resources sector. Yang has extensive experience in transactions involving regional LNG, natural gas and oil. She joins from Clifford Chance’s Hong Kong office where she was head of natural resources.

She is currently a partner with Indonesian legal practice Makarim & Taira S. and is a recognised leading banking and finance lawyer with over 15 years experience advising clients in the Indonesian legal market. Siregar’s experience includes advising banks on transactional debt finance work and undertaking M&As in the banking and financial sector together with the integration of foreign bank branch offices in Indonesia. She is also an aviation specialist and headed the aviation practice at Makarim & Taira S, whose aviation team was recently named the 2011 Aviation Firm of the Year in Indonesia by ASIAN-MENA Counsel. |
