Jeong Cheol Cho has joined Korean firm Yulchon as a partner. Cho is a former public prosecutor who also served as a Superintendent Public Prosecutor. He graduated from Seoul National University and attended the Max Planck Institute for International Criminal Law. Cho has extensive legal experience in general corporate law, internal investigations, and litigation.
Former judge Jeong Yeol Choe has also joined Korean firm Yulchon as a partner. Choe served in several district courts, including those of Incheon, Seoul, and Kunsan. Before joining Yulchon, he also served as a professor at the Judicial Research and Training Institute and as a patent court judge. Choe has authored several dissertations on copyright and patent law, and is a member of the Center for Law & Technology and the Korea Association for Infomedia Law. John KJ Kim joins Yulchon as a partner in the firm’s corporate practice. He has extensive experience in M&A, foreign investments, and other cross-border transactions. He also has significant experience in dispute resolution. Prior to joining Yulchon, he practiced law at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York and Kim & Chang in Seoul. Tae Hyeon Kim was among the recent group of partners joining Yulchon as a partner. Kim brings the firm more than 25 years of experience as a public prosecutor. Prior to joining Yulchon, he served as Chief Public Prosecutor at the Busan District Public Prosecutor’s Office and President of the Legal Research and Training Institute. He also held various other leadership positions as a public prosecutor, including serving as head of the criminal trial and civil litigation department at the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office and Chief Public Prosecutor at the Ulsan District Public Prosecutor’s Office. Kum Ju Son rounds out the five recent partner hires by Korean firm Yulchon. Son is a former judge who served in several courts, including the Suwon, Seoul, Suncheon, and Dongbu district courts. He is member of the Center for Law & Technology and the Korea Association for Infomedia Law and has extensive legal experience in the areas of antitrust and competition, real estate and construction, telecommunications and broadcasting, litigation and IP. |
