Ashurst has strengthened its debt capital markets team with the appointment of Jini Lee as a partner in its Hong Kong-based Securities & Derivatives Group. Joining from Linklaters where she worked in its Hong Kong and London offices, Lee has wide-ranging international capital markets expertise and has experience in advising both issuers and underwriters in bond transactions, medium term notes, liability management exercises and equity-linked transactions. Fluent in Mandarin, she is qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong, England and Wales and as an advocate and solicitor in Singapore.


Davis Polk has added Jon Gray as a partner in Tokyo. Gray joins from Linklaters, where he had been a partner since 2007. He has advised investment banks, private equity funds and issuers on a variety of debt, equity and restructuring transactions. His transactional experience includes SEC-registered offerings, Rule 144A and Regulation S offerings and other private placements. A significant portion of his practice has involved Japanese companies. Gray is widely recognized as a leading US lawyer on capital markets transactions involving Japanese issuers.

Latham & Watkins has added Yilong Du as a corporate partner in the firm’s Hong Kong office. Du has extensive experience advising on equity capital markets transactions in Mainland China, Hong Kong and the US and cross-border M&As. Over the years, Du has advised leading Chinese blue chip companies, many of the most active state-owned enterprises and a number of the largest private companies in China. He joins from a leading US investment bank in Hong Kong, where he was executive director and senior counsel. Du led the legal efforts for most of the bank’s investment banking transactions in China, including US-registered and HK-listed IPOs, bond and other equity offerings and cross-border and domestic M&A. He has particularly deep knowledge of Hong Kong listing rules and SFC regulations and has significant experience advising on securities regulations and general company representation matters. Du received his JD from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and his LLM with Distinction from Beijing University Law School. He received a BS with Distinction from Beijing University School of Math.
