Gadens has appointed Adam Howell as a partner in its Banking and Finance Team in Melbourne. Howell joins from K&L Gates, where he has been a partner for the last five years. He has also worked with Freehills in Australia and Norton Rose in London. He has experience in both domestic and cross border transactions and practices extensively in the institutional and corporate finance and transactional banking areas. Howell’s expertise in financing structures and transactions extends across corporate and acquisition finance, private equity and leveraged finance, debt restructurings and workouts, and asset and structured property finance.



Norton Rose Fulbright has expanded its dispute resolution expertise with the hiring of Fried Frank’s Hong Kong Dispute Resolution team. Partner Alfred Wu, with senior consultant Philip Nunn and three associates, will join the firm’s Hong Kong office. The newly-hired team’s practice covers general commercial disputes, construction disputes and contentious regulatory issues. Their general disputes work includes corporate finance, M&A, funds, joint venture, shareholders, property and employment disputes, as well as insolvency and restructuring matters. They have represented banks, HKSE-listed issuers, multinational corporations, funds, accountants/liquidators and high-net-worth individuals. Their construction experience includes acting for government departments, statutory bodies, employers, engineers, architects, contractors and subcontractors on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters. On the contentious regulatory side, they have represented clients in numerous investigations and actions/prosecutions by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, HKSE, Financial Reporting Council and Companies Registry, as well as assisting in undertaking internal control reviews and FCPA and SEC related investigations.
