Bingham McCutchen has expanded its global funds practice with the arrival of Thiha Tun as a partner in the firm’s London office. Tun joins the firm’s investment management practice group from Herbert Smith Freehills, where he represented investment funds, investment managers and other participants in the funds industry. He works within the private equity, real estate, infrastructure and hedge funds space.

Gadens has appointed David Perks as partner effective 2 September 2013. Formerly a partner at King & Wood Mallesons, he specialises in energy, resources and projects. Perks has substantial experience advising a number of the world’s leading mining companies, including BHP Billiton, CITIC Resources, Goldcorp and Focus Minerals. He has also presented at a number of high-profile industry conferences, including the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association Conference and the Australian Mining and Petroleum Law Association WA Conference. He addtionally advises on corporate governance matters.
