Clyde & Co LLP has appointed Joycia Young as partner in its Middle East Intellectual Property group. She joins the firm from DLA Piper, where she was responsible for leading that firm’s IP practice for the Middle East, South Asia and Africa. Young’s principal areas of practice are intellectual property and franchising, and she advises on the full range of transactional and contentious issues related to trade marks, domain names and copyright, as well as in relation to brand protection strategies. Her recent work has included advising the media, retail and fashion industries.

Mallesons Stephen Jaques has appointed Dennis Brock, one of Hong Kong’s most experienced and respected commercial litigators, as a partner in its Hong Kong office effective October 2010. Brock was most recently a partner in the litigation and dispute resolution practice of Clifford Chance in London, having previously led Clifford Chance’s litigation and dispute resolution practice in Asia, during which time he was based in Hong Kong from 1997 to 2006.
