Hogan Lovells has recruited Andy Ferris into its international debt capital markets team in Singapore as a partner. He will join on 3 March 2014. Ferris advises top-tier international and large local underwriting banks, issuers, bond/security trustees and investors on issues of debt and equity-linked instruments throughout the Asia-Pacific region. High profile clients he has advised include Standard Chartered Bank, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, HSBC and The Bank of New York Mellon.

Shearman & Sterling has added partner George Borovas in Tokyo to head the firm’s global nuclear practice. He joins from Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, where he led international nuclear projects efforts. Borovas has advised on nuclear power plant development and financings, nuclear transactions, litigation and regulatory matters in the US, Japan, Europe, the Middle East, South Korea, Southeast Asia, China, Russia and South Africa. His clients have included governments, commercial banks, export credit agencies, electric utilities, nuclear power plant vendors and equipment suppliers, investment banks, universities, trading houses and other stakeholders in the energy industry. Borovas is also a chemical engineer and, before becoming a lawyer, worked on the design and operation of nuclear power plants.
