K&L Gates has bolstered its Hong Kong corporate practice with the appointment of Maria Tan Pedersen as a corporate partner. She joins from Howrey. An experienced transactional and energy lawyer with a diversified corporate and commercial practice, Pedersen regularly represents Asian and other international clients in project and commercial financing matters and cross-border transactions, including M&As, JVs, and international contracts. She also advises clients on a broad range of energy, operational and strategic business and regulatory compliance matters.

Minter Ellison has recruited Matthew Cunningham from Mallesons Stephen Jaques as a finance partner based in the firm’s Sydney office. He specialises in property and corporate finance, including complex bilateral loans, club deals and syndicated lending transactions. He advises lenders, arrangers and underwriters, corporate borrowers, sponsors and credit wrappers. Cunningham is admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of England and Wales, the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of New South Wales.

Yulchon has appointed Tae Yong Ahn as a partner in its main office in Seoul, South Korea. Ahn, who joined the firm in February 2011 from Kim & Chang, primarily focuses on FDIs, M&As, overseas investment, and international arbitration and cross-border litigation. He practices in a broad range of areas that involve international legal issues and has advised major foreign and Korean corporations on their investment activities in Korea and abroad. Ahn is licensed to practice in Korea and New York.
