David McElveney has joined Clyde & Co LLP as partner and head of the firm’s Abu Dhabi construction and projects practice. McElveney is a recognised construction, engineering and projects law specialist with over 22 years’ experience working on a range of projects internationally. His practice has included advising the full range of project participants on project structuring, negotiation and preparation of project documentation, and advice during project delivery as well as claims management, dispute resolution, arbitration and litigation. McElveney was formerly head of the construction & engineering practice at Deacons.

Sherry Yin has joined Morrison & Foerster LLP as a partner in the firm’s corporate practice, resident in the Beijing office. Yin’s practice focuses on inbound and outbound corporate and securities matters for domestic and international companies and financial intermediaries. She is particularly recognised for her expertise in corporate structuring and restructuring, M&As, private equity and venture capital investments, and securities matters in the China, Hong Kong and US markets. Yin joins Morrison & Foerster from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. Prior to joining Orrick, Yin worked with Coudert Brothers for 11 years.

Stephenson Harwood has appointed insurance lawyer Steven Dewhurst as a partner based in its Singapore office. Over the past 10 years, Dewhurst has worked in the UK and in Hong Kong and brings a wealth of experience in corporate and claims activity to the firm. He regularly provides contentious and non-contentious advice to insurers, re-insurers and insurance intermediaries. Prior to joining the firm, Dewhurst served as an insurance partner at DLA Piper in Hong Kong.
