Akin has added Tarun Warriar as a partner in the firm’s special situations & private credit team. He is based in Akin’s Hong Kong office and joins from Värde Partners, a leading global alternative investment firm, where he was a managing director. Warriar advises on special situations investments, restructurings and contentious matters. He also advises on legal and commercial matters in the asset management industry, including investment funds matters, derivatives and issues relating to portfolio companies. Prior to joining Värde Partners, he was a partner in the restructuring and special situations team at Kirkland & Ellis.
