Our special thanks go to:
The In-House Community’s 18th annual Hong Kong In-House Congress event attracted more than 500 delegates to the JW Marriott for a packed day of workshops and discussions.
Once again, the event brought together leading in-house lawyers, chief executives, company directors and compliance professionals from both the private and public sectors in Hong Kong.
Following a welcome by In-House Community co-director Patrick Dransfield, the day started with a full house for the plenary session, which looked at how in-house legal teams should make the best use of external counsel and alternative legal providers to strike the right balance between cost, quality and value. Evangelos Apostolou, president of EMEA for SirionLabs and former Asia-Pacific general counsel for Ernst & Young and BT, led an experienced panel that comprised BT’s head of legal for North-East Asia and Japan, Lara Lightbody; Intel’s group counsel for Greater Asia sales and marketing, Winston Kiang; general counsel for Ant Financial Services Group, Leiming Chan; head of global client development for Eversheds Hong Kong, Stephen Hopkins; and head of Asia for Addleshaw Goddard, Nigel Francis.
| There followed a day of lively networking and interactive workshops covering
Due diligence, China dispute resolution, global anti-corruption enforcement, Hong Kong as a legal services and disputes hub, Belt & Road projects, a US regulatory update, cyber security and managing challenging terminations, presented in theatre, round-table, panel and in film by our excellent speakers from Addleshaw Goddard, Axiom, Clyde & Co, Davis Polk & Wardwell, Debevoise & Plimpton, DLA Piper, Eversheds, Fangda Partners, Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and Mintz Group.
Thanks to all the above, and to our sponsors Hughes-Castell, Lewis Sanders, Major, Lindsey & Africa, Taylor Root, and our fabulous prize-draw providers PYE Shirts and Liquidz for their contributions to such a success.
“18 years and still going strong – well done!”
