Now in its fifteenth year, the In-House Congress Kuala Lumpur hosted by InHouse Community brought together near 230 senior counsel, Directors and CEOs to analyse and discuss issues such as: New Companies’ Act; Investigations: Getting your Ducks in a Row; An Update on the Personal Data Protection Act 2010; Challenges and Pitfalls in an M&A Transaction Cycle; and Cross Border M&A – the Experts’ Guide.

On June 2, 2016, DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur was the venue for our fifteenth annual In-House Congress Kuala Lumpur, attended by a record breaking 233 members from the jurisdiction’s In-House Community.
Subsequent to welcome remarks from Patrick Dransfield, Publishing Director, Asian-mena Counsel and Co-Director, In-House Community, delegates received insight during our panel discussion entitled ‘In-House Lawyering: uncovering the relationship between Quality, Cost and Value, and their continuingly changing relationship with External Counsel’. This was led by Evangelos Apostolou, Principal, DA Partners (a law practice member firm of EY global network and a former regional General Counsel of many years standing, and involved thoughts from Lee Chin Tok, Group General Counsel, CIMB Group; Hema Latha Sinnakaudan, General Counsel, Legal, Compliance & Company Secretarial, Sun Life Malaysia Assurance Berhad; Adrian Chair, Managing Partner, Putri Norlisa Chair; Janice Anne Leo, Partner, Shook Lin & Bok; and Gilbert Gan Boon Seah, Partner, Zaid Ibrahim & Co (member of ZICO Law).
Workshops then ensued, providing guests with the opportunity to hear about the New Companies Act; Investigations; the Personal Data Protection Act 2010; Challenges and Pitfalls in an M&A Transaction Cycle; and Cross-Border M&As.
