(TOKYO – 27 July 2016) – Squire Patton Boggs has announced the appointment of partner Scott Warren. Warren, the former general counsel for Sega and senior attorney at Microsoft Japan, is a specialist in cybersecurity and IP protection in Asia.Warren has over 30 years’ experience in litigation, licensing and protecting intellectual property, and has spent over 20 years working across Asia on complex legal, regulatory and investigative matters. He was formerly Regional Managing Director for Asia Pacific of Kroll’s Legal Technology group at Kroll Ontrack, and more recently he was appointed by e-Discovery industry leader Epiq Systems to launch its operations in Japan. He has a track record of working throughout the region supporting local companies with their digital evidence, computer forensic and cyber security needs.Warren is a member of the Executive Board of The Society for the Policing of Cyberspace (POLCYB), an organization which promotes cybersecurity through enhancing and developing global international partnerships to prevent, detect, and combat cyberspace crimes.
