Azmi & Associates has celebrated its 10th anniversary with a bang, opening an office in Singapore on 1 September 2010. The Malaysian-based firm is keen to pursue further growth beyond domestic corporate deals and establish itself as a regional law firm. Under the leadership of partners Jeffrey Tan and Serina Abdul Samad, strategies for the Singapore office will include seeking to position the firm as a robust legal adviser on Islamic finance and cross-border investment transactions. The firm is in the process of finalising the engagement of a Belgium qualified lawyer and an Indonesia qualified lawyer, who will join Tan and Samad in the office. The fourth Malaysia law firm to establish a presence in Singapore, the firm also offers an International Law Division, a Chinadesk and benefits from collaboration with PRC firm Zhong Yin Law Firm.
