PwC is continuing its expansion into the Asian legal services market through the launch of a new firm in Hong Kong, just three months after it set up in Singapore.

The accounting firm will operate through a newly created independent law firm called Tiang & Co, which is led by David Tiang, a former Beijing-based partner with King & Wood Mallesons who has also held regional general counsel roles at Walmart and General Electric.

Tiang & Co is associated with PwC Legal International, the accountant’s licensed foreign law practice in Singapore and part of its global legal network.

Two former Hong Kong-based O’Melveny & Myers lawyers have also joined the new firm: partner Gigi Woo and counsel Joyce Tung.

According to its website, Tiang & Co will focus on Hong Kong and China-related M&A, business reorganisations and integrations, regulatory compliance and general corporate and commercial advice.

Leon Flavell, PwC’s global legal services leader, has spearhead the expansion in Asia, starting with the launch of the Singapore firm in December last year.

The office launched with two partners: Keith McGuire, former Ashurst Singapore managing partner, and Natalie Breen, a real estate partner from Norton Rose Fulbright. Henry Goodwin, former Asia head at Taylor Vinters, has since also joined as a partner.

Singapore firm Camford Law is also part of PwC’s global network.
